Madra Wood is a standout piece of aquarium driftwood that brings a rugged, sculptural vibe to any planted tank. Packed with intricate knots, deep whorls, and weathered texture, this driftwood-style wood makes a striking centerpiece or accent for hobbyists after something a little more characterful than the usual. This is definitely knot your average driftwood!

Product Features and Benefits

  • The surface of Madra Wood is filled with natural character. These deep grooves and knots make it an ideal aquarium wood for anchoring aquatic mosses, Ferns, or Bucephalandra.
  • Its heavy, textured appearance pairs beautifully with popular aquascaping stones like Seiryu or Dragon Stone. Use it as a standalone centerpiece or as a bridge between rocky outcrops in a planted aquarium hardscape.
  • Available in a wide range of sizes and packs, Madra Wood can easily accommodate everything from a nano setup to a large-scale display tank.

  • Large: 17–25 inches

Preparation and Care
Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.

  1. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
  2. The Floating Phase: Depending on the density of the specific piece, Madra Wood may be buoyant initially. To keep your hardscape from floating away, we recommend weighing it down with a stone or soaking it until it is fully waterlogged.
  3. Tannin Management: Like most aquarium driftwood, this will release tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer crystal-clear water, a 1–2 hour boil is the best way to fast-track the process. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag

Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1-2 hours to help release tannins.
